Tennis Elbow

EBS Physiotherapy can help you get better

Understanding Tennis Elbow

Tennis elbow is a painful condition that occurs when there is a repetitive strain/ overuse or inflammation or, in some cases, microtearing of the tendons that join the forearm muscles on the outside of the elbow. The forearm muscles and tendons become injured from this overuse which leads to pain and tenderness on the outside of the elbow/ forearm. Despite its name, tennis players aren't the only people who develop tennis elbow. People whose jobs feature the types of motions that can lead to tennis elbow include plumbers, painters, carpenters and butchers or even desk based workers.

Symptoms of tennis elbow can gradually worsen. At first, you may have pain, burning, or an ache along the outside of your forearm and elbow. With time, the pain can get worse. If you continue the activity that caused your condition, the pain may spread down to your wrist, even at rest. Pain may also persist when you place your arm and hand palm-down on a table, and then try to raise your hand against resistance. You may also feel pain when you try to lift and grip small objects, such as a coffee cup. A weak grip is another symptom of tennis elbow.

what client says about us

I had been suffering from chronic back pain for years and had tried various treatments with little to no success. That all changed when I started working with Ebs Physiotherapy. Their deep understanding of the causes of back pain and the expertise in treating it have made all the difference. After only a few sessions, I noticed significant improvement in my pain levels and increased mobility. He is professional, knowledgeable, and compassionate, and I couldn't be happier with the results. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for effective relief from back pain.
